Laveno Mombello - The "Frazione Cerro" committee for lakeside protection is founded in Laveno Mombello - Varese News

On the evening of July 9, 2025, the "Cerro Fraction Committee" was formed with the aim of "preserving and redeveloping this small pearl of the area," as the committee members wrote in a press release.
The hamlet of Cerro is home to one of the most picturesque lakeside promenades on the Lombardy shore of Lake Verbano, facing the Borromean Islands, with a large, open-access beach.
The committee was formed following several meetings among residents of the hamlet regarding an upcoming development project in the former Sironi pier area. These meetings resulted in a reasoned opinion regarding the project and its proposed changes, which was sent to the Laveno Mombello municipal administration. A signature drive was also launched, which is still ongoing, in support of the initiative, which has received approximately 150 signatures to date.
The establishment of a committee arose from the need to facilitate communication between citizens and municipal administrations by identifying a representative . The founding members of the "Cerro Fraction Committee" identified Dr. Monica De Gasperi as their president and representative to various bodies.
The committee, the note concludes, invites you to read and sign the petition "Let's preserve the Cerro lakeside promenade." For further information and requests: email address: [email protected] YouTube channel: comitatofrazionecerro .
